Snow Sports Equipment

• Skis, Ski Boots and Ski Poles or…
• Snowboard, Snowboard Boots, Snowboard Leash
• Velcro strap to bundle skis and poles. Ski and/or snowboard bags are ok, but leave them in the Bus cargo hold
• Backpack (NO suitcases, NO boot bags, NO large duffles)
• Please clearly label/tag all skis, poles, snowboards and bags
  (for rentals, write on clear packing tape with a sharpie)

Snow Sports Clothing

• Ski/Snowboard Helmet (required)
• Ski/Snowboard Goggles (required)
• Waterproof Snow Gloves (2 pair are recommended)
• Layered, synthetic clothing is best
  Avoid cotton underwear and sweatshirts
• Waterproof Snow Pants
  (either insulated or shell plus long underwear)
• Waterproof Jacket
  (either insulated or shell plus zip-in insulated liner)
• Thin or medium non-cotton socks — modern boots are well insulated so thick socks are NOT necessary.
• Please label all clothing

Equipment Rentals

• Daily/weekend rentals require pickup and dropoff of equipment each time you need it–time consuming and more expensive in the long run.
• Season rentals let you keep the gear for the entire season.
• Note that season equipment rentals do sell out so shop EARLY!
• Students MUST have their gear IN HAND to board our buses. Do NOT plan to have your student pick up/return gear at the Summit! E.g. students may not use Summit Season Rental Passes.

Equipment Tuning

• If you own your own gear, be sure to check that it is properly tuned, sized and adjusted to allow for growth in height, weight and foot size.
• Be sure your boots fit! You should be able to wear them buckled/tied comfortably for several hours at a time — try it at home.
• Be sure your ski boots fit your ski bindings and your bindings are correctly adjusted!
• Be sure your snowboard boots fit your snowboard bindings and your bindings are correctly sized with no loose, torn, cracked or missing parts!
• Most stores selling and renting equipment offer equipment tune-ups if you take your gear to them (don’t forget the boots).
